This is a fantastic piece of kit. The machine is well built and easy to use, the milk frother is great and very easy to keep clean, unlike the more complicated milk steamers that other machines have. The coffee produced by all Nespresso machines (at least the 5 I have encountered) is always good.

Things that differentiate and make this machine better than other Nespresso machines I’ve used:
1> The water tank is very accessible and visible on the back of the machine so you can very easily see how much water is left.
2> It’s size. This version is small and neat, but if you go for the one without the frother it’s absolutely tiny.
3> Milk Frother is a cleverly designed, non-stick container that can easily be cleaned. Other machines have a milk tank, or a Steamer. Steamers get really hot and the milk burns on to them making them hard to clean. Anything with an integrated milk tank is going to be hard to clean, and if you forget to clean it before you go on holiday, rendered useless.
4> It’s nice looking. Some of the older machines were a bit clunky looking, this one is very stylish.

    Can’t recommend it highly enough.

Bought this from amazon at £152 instead of £200 from John Lewis or House of Fraser and it arrived in 2 days! Very happy with set up. Makes very good coffee. The pods are simple to use, you just pop one in the top, and press a button. The Milk frother is definately worth getting as you can whip milk into froth & foam in 30s to make your own lattes etc. The unit looks fab on the kitchen worktop and cleaning is simple. Havent yet ordered any new pods but after having it for 2 days, well pleased with the product. The coffee that came out was also piping hot so not sure about comments from others that the coffee isnt hot enough…Overall thoroughly recommended! They came out with a Titanium/silver coloured version but that was £220 from other retailers…

the real deal despite George Clooney, 5 Dec 2009

If you like your espresso this is the perfect gadget – it creates a beautifully “creamy” espresso, so good I’d challenge you to tell the difference between this and what comes out of your high street coffee bar. Simple to operate and simple to clean this little machine is built to last. Mini complaint is that the coffee could just be a touch hotter as could the perfectly frothed milk which comes from the aeroccino, but it’s a minor detail because the taste is fab and there is plenty of variety to choose from. Admittedly I am a little put off by the whole ‘Nespresso club’ business as coffee is coffee and not George Clooney. And you are stuck with Nespresso and their expensive little pods (once you add the P&P costs) but it’s still a lot cheaper than buying a cup from the coffee bar and you can drink it in your pyjamas without the makeup and an old pair of slippers on your feet.
